Job Title: Director of Permitting

Our client is a leading developer and operator in the renewable energy sector.
About the Role:
As the Director of Permitting, you will manage discretionary land use and natural resources permitting to support the company’s development portfolio on the West Coast. You will be responsible for acquiring necessary permits, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and working closely with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Manage discretionary land use and natural resources permitting for the development portfolio on the West Coast.
- Acquire land use permits such as conditional use permits, special use permits, zoning changes, franchise agreements, and plan amendments.
- Obtain federal Rights-of-Way in California.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Work closely with internal teams, external consultants, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals.
Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, land use planning, ecology, geography, or a similar field.
- 10+ years of experience in compliance management and permitting in the renewable energy sector, preferably utility-scale Solar PV and BESS.
- Skilled in acquiring land use permits such as conditional use permits, special use permits, zoning changes, franchise agreements, and plan amendments.
- Experience with federal Rights-of-Way in California.
